“All Out Sound Warrior and Filmmaker”

Amaobi Ajawara is an all-out sound warrior and filmmaker. Amaobi was born in California as a first-generation Bridge Afro meaning he has a dual citizenship in America and Africa. He earned his Masters  of Fine Arts in Film Production from Full Sail University in 2017. Amaobi also received his Bachelor’s degree in Film and Media from the University of California, Irvine in 2014.

From 2013-2017, Amaobi collaborated on over fourty-one films. He enjoys being a Camera Operator, but is most comfortable working in the sound department. He has excelled as a Boom Operator and a Foley Artist. In 2017, Amaobi delved into the world of sound mixing in the film “5K.” He has completed several film projects as a Sound Mixer, including: “Looking for Me”, “The Edge”, “Man & Quinn”, “Operation Coffee” and “ When Women Rule The World.” Amaobi has also worked as a Grip, Art Pa, 2nd AC, Director, and Producer.

Amaobi’s class thesis film “The Edge” experienced a major setback while shooting the film. It boasted a starting crew of 64 people and a budget of $5,362.  However, Hurricane Irma interrupted the production’s shooting days and cut the film crew in half. Amaobi stepped up and played several key roles that ensured the completion of the film on time and under budget. Also "The Edge" had a successful crowd funding campaign on Indiegogo.com

Now in the present, Amaobi’s filmmaking adventure is slowly rising with excellent results for each project he does. He freelances in both Northern and Southern California, recently his skills have gotten him opportunities to travel to different countries such as Mexico, Rome and now has a sound business in Nigeria called “Ajawara Professional Sound Limited” for professional sound recording. So far Amaobi's growth in film, music videos, documentaries, live streams, corporate media projects, weddings, and, events collaboration continues to grow every month.
